New Insulated Lunch Bags and Flood Relief Appeal

We're really excited to finally bring to you our very own

Insulated Lunch Bags

We love these bags because they're not too girly or too boyish so any child would love them. No doubt a few Mums will snap one up to use for themselves too!

They're only $24.95 each and are a perfect size at 28cm H x 17cm W x 10cm D. Plenty of room to fit a lunch box and a couple of other snacks.

They're easy for little fingers to open and close with Velcro and have a carry handle on the top.

FLOOD RELIEF

As you know Queensland (and now other parts of Australia) have had major flooding that has absolutely devastated 75% of the state. We're here in Brisbane but thankfully have not been affected by the flood waters.

6th Birthday Party...

Well, Riley and Charlotte's 6th Birthday Party has been and gone.... and we've finally recovered!! Such a lot of effort put in by myself and the hubby for a two hour party but it was all worth it. Here's some happy snaps of the fantastic day...

The Birthday Party Plan...

Well it's that time of year again.... My twin girls will be turning 6 this week and they're having a party with their school friends on the weekend. It's pretty exciting as it's their first "real" birthday party. What I mean is, other years it's either just been family or basically our own friends with kids their age. But this is the first party with their "own" friends.

So, here's what the plan is so far..... the theme is a High Tea (in pink and red) and the invitations have been handed out...

As each child arrives, my Mum is going to do a bit of face painting... a cupcake on their cheek

Then we'll play a game or two... I haven't decided what yet but maybe musical statues, pass the parcel, pin the cherry on the cupcake... (any other suggestions would be great)

Next for the high tea, I'm going to set up a long table with a pink table cloth, red napkins and plates and red scatter hearts...

with red and pink Tissue Paper Pom Poms hanging over the table...

They're going to eat Sushi-style sandwiches...

Fruit Kebabs...

Mini Cupcakes with little love heart toppers...

tea cup cookies...

and the cake (at this stage anyway) is going to be a tea pot cake...

Lastly, for the party bags I've bought some Red and Pink Paper Party Bags...

I've got the Party Bag tags...

and I haven't decided exactly what to put inside yet but here's a few of my ideas...

So, that's the plan. Now we just need to see if I can pull it off!!

My baby turned three !!

A couple of weeks ago my baby turned three (I guess I can't call him a baby anymore can I??) and we had a little family birthday party for him.

I decided a while ago that the kids could have a birthday party with their friends every second year and just a family one for the years in between. I did invite one friend for Harry though as he has no cousins around his age to play with and also, they're all girls! So I thought that he at least needed one friend to play with!

He loves Thomas the Tank Engine at the moment so that was the cake taken care of.... until I actually started trying to make it... eeeek. I loved the way it turned out in the end but it was originally going to have the sugar icing all around but it just kept falling apart. So after an hour of trying (and probably making it even softer from all the rolling) I went with the icing just on top (you can't tell from the angle of this photo anyway).

Anyway, lots of fun was had by all and Harry loved his Thomas cake and new Thomas bike... I think his friend wants one now too... he he he

Happy Birthday my beautiful boy.... may you always stay as gorgeous as you are right now!! (minus the tantrums that still haven't disappeared now that you've turned three... LOL)

Oh, and just in case I hadn't had enough of cake baking, I had to make more cakes for him to take to Day Care the next day which was his actual birthday.... phew!

Mathilda's Market wrap up and some fabulous purchases!!

Well, Mathilda's Market on Saturday was another fantastic day as usual. The new venue at the Brisbane Racing Club was fantastic and there was plenty of room for stallholders and shoppers.

Lucky I got there at 7am as it took me the full two hours to set-up, with a bit of chatting in between of course! I'd even done a trial set-up at home last week, being my first stall with Kawaii for You of course, but it still took me forever! Anyway, here's the finished product.

I was in the middle but I might request a wall next time as I think having a plain backdrop behind you, makes your products "pop" more.

I did quite a bit of shopping myself too - thanks to Sari Princess and Lil' Ludy for looking after my stall on the numerous occasions I ducked off !!

So, here's some of the things I bought:

A dress each for the twins

and a few singlets and nappy pants for some babies due in the next few weeks

all of the above were from Three Little Trees

I also bought some gorgeous clothes for Harry from Miatom

cowboys and indians long sleeve top

We're very excited to be having our very first market stall at the fabulous Mathilda's Market next Saturday 20th February.

Mathilda's Market is a stunning niche market that offers unique, stylish and affordable baby & kids goods and the retailers are hand picked to ensure an exciting product range. It's a kid's shopping heaven.

Come and visit us from 9am to 4pm at the Brisbane Racecourse at Eagle Farm, 230 Lancaster Road, Ascot (inside in the St Ledger and The Tote rooms).

Entry and parking is free and with almost 80 retailers, gourmet food and plenty of kids entertainment Mathilda’s Market is becoming one of Brisbane’s best shopping destinations for the little ones.
